The bhavacakra, samsaracakra (saṃsāracakra), or wheel of existence (life) is one of the most well-known and dynamic visual expressions of Buddhist worldview. It describes the Buddhist understanding of birth, death, and rebirth as various types of beings (devas, asuras, humans, animals, pretas, and hell-beings), as well as specific causal factors and processes of this cyclic existence, samsara.
